It absolutely frustrates me that out of all the comments I have to moderate, more than 50% of them contribute absolutely nothing to the discussion. Some of them even completely miss the point of my post.
Here are some simple house rules to follow:
1) Please READ my ENTIRE post and UNDERSTAND the context and meaning behind my words. I don’t use very complicated language, all I ask is that you UNDERSTAND what I have written before you write a reply.
Many of the comments for my Fire Emblem piece talk about how Lunatic and Lunatic+ are playable with enough effort and scumming. This is completely missing the point: I am talking about the bad game design of such ridiculously and outrageously tough difficulty levels. It is not fun at all, and it does not feel rewarding even after you have completed it. I have yet to see a single person offer a valid (and on-topic) counterpoint to my argument.
A few of the comments for Kill la Kill talk about how I have no right to post my judgment or opinions on the matter. Seriously? Then I can turn that argument around and say that you have no right to post any comments either. I have been very kind, and still allowed these comments to be posted, because I strongly believe in the freedom to contribute discussions to an article. But if I see more useless comments, I will be tempted to just leave them in the trash bin. Please don’t force me to use the last resort of banning all comments entirely.
2) No excessive swearing or profanity permitted. The occasional F-bomb is fine, but please keep things civil.
3) Do not post attacks on other users who have commented.
4) Troll comments are fine — but please use some common sense and don’t overdo them.
5) Have fun.
