Yet another newspaper article devoted to Xian, this time with a slightly more detailed interview. Xian talks about his gaming origins, and explains the difficulty in getting eSports and pro-gaming to be recognised as a legitimate career in Singapore (something I mentioned in the comments of my previous post about Xian).
Interesting fact not mentioned in the article: Xian once took part in a KOF2001 competition when he was 11 years old. I can’t remember who won, but he made it pretty far in the tournament, earning himself the nickname “Xiao Wanlong” (Little Wanlong). Wanlong was the name of one of Singapore’s strongest KOF players that time.
An 11 year old kid, slugging it out with adults more than twice his age and holding his own? That’s nothing short of pure talent. A simply amazing and passionate gamer.
Thanks to Curren “Tax” Seow for scanning and posting the article on Facebook.
