I apologise for not writing about my weekly arcade sessions as I had promised. When I come home from the arcade, it’s already 12.30am the next morning and sometimes I just fall asleep immediately on the bed and forget all about it. The fact that I am always feeling tired after work at my new job isn’t helping.
Our second MBAACC tournament (we had one in May 2012) will be held next Saturday on 22 June. Yup, it clashes on the same day as our SEA Major (SEAM) qualifiers for EVO. But since none of us in the MB community care much about the games lineup at SEAM, it doesn’t really affect us. A true poverty attitude for a poverty game.
I am going to attempt to use Infiltration’s method of playing in tournaments: by taking notes on every participant that enters the tournament, writing down their bad habits and playstyle, and then adopting my own strategy and tactics to counter them. Let’s see if this will work at making me a better player. I just want to play to the best of my ability and at least learn something at the end of the day, even if I lose.
Already, from the list of participants, I predict that at least FOUR Nanayas are going to appear (we have many Nanaya players in Singapore for some reason). Seriously, four Nanayas? I hate Nero as much as anyone, but I do not want to see a Nanaya as champion. I will study this character religiously over the next few days so that I am well prepared to knock this character out of the tournament. I repeat, I do not want to see a Singapore Nanaya as champion, goddammit.
